Advanced Theatre offers two tracks, one in performance, one in technical theatre. Students also have the option to work in both categories. Performers center on character creation, learning different forms and theories of character creation and analyze professional examples for successes and challenges. After applying these concepts to improvisation and scene work, performers apply the format to characters in a fall play.
Technical Theatre students learn the elements of design, analyzing professional works for theme, tone, message, and feelings. Now using this knowledge, students work collaboratively to design technical elements for the fall play, unifying theme, tone message and feeling between sets, lights, sound, costumes, and props.
