Wednesday, October 16th is Unity Day! This is a day when all staff and students are invited to wear orange to encourage kindness, acceptance, and inclusion. Our community can work together to prevent bullying!
Want a place to play and talk about chess? Join the 8th grade chess club Thrusdays during 8th grade lunch in Mr. Bernhardt’s room (130).
Pokemon club is a place where you hang out and do pokemon stuff. We meet every Tuesday after school, starting 10/15 in room 130. Hope you catch’em all!
Wavelength Literary and Arts Magazine is having it’s first contest of the school year! Capture an autumn moment in writing or art using the prompts Humorous Halloween, Spooky Stories, Autumn Leaves, nature, and animals, or Thanksgiving and being thankful. Submissions should be shared with Ms. Chiu AND Ms. Field by November 1st! We can’t wait to see what our Admiral Artists and Writers come up with! Entries should be 750 words or fewer and school appropriate. Share a google doc or photo with cynthia.chiu@apsva.us and whitney.field@apsva.us !
Swanson PTA Movie Night – The MOVIE will be Despicable Me 4!

Swanson students – join us for a FREE movie night at the Swanson Theater, Friday, October 18 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.! Enjoy a movie with your friends and purchase snacks to support the PTA. Participants are encouraged to register prior to the event but walk-ins are welcome. FREE. All participants must have a Swanson school ID to enter.The students’ top vote for the movie was, Despicable Me 4!

New club announcement! Want to play games, read books, watch anime, and eat snacks? Come to The Manga Library in room 260 (Mrs. Behrens) on Thursdays from 2:35-3:30 starting October 10th!
There will be an interest meeting for Girls Basketball on Tuesday, October 15th after school in the large gym. Come meet Coach Treakle and learn about the tryout process and season expectations!
