Good Morning Admirals! Today is Wednesday, October 7th and it is an A Day!

Yesterday, the Swanson Tennis Team defeated Dorothy Hamm MS in their fifth and final dual match of the 2026 tennis season. All five lines were victorious. Match wins were secured by: Andrew Moore at 6-1 in boys singles, Brynn Englander at 6-1 in girls singles, Clint Ke and Riley Vu at 6-4 in boys doubles, Sofia Lopez Pavia and Ann Chen at 6-2 in girls doubles, and Bryce Schiffman and Abby Panko at 6-3 in mixed doubles. Yesterday’s dual match victory secures an undefeated dual match season for Swanson Tennis for the second year in a row. Next week, the team takes their talents to Arlington County Championships at Wakefield HS for singles and doubles, on Tuesday and Thursday, respectively. Go Admirals!
Congratulations to the Girls Soccer team on their 3-0 win over Dorothy Hamm yesterday! Goals were scored by Alaa and Amelia (2), and a stout defense helped Erin earn another clean sheet! The Admirals take on Kenmore this afternoon at home in a rescheduled match! Come out and support the team!

All Swanson students are invited to participate in this year’s PTA Reflections competition celebrating the theme “What My Culture Means to Me.” Express your creativity and share your creations with the Swanson community! Swanson’s winning artists advance to the Arlington County PTA competition and have the opportunity to participate in the Virginia PTA and National PTA Reflections Arts Contest. Our wonderful teachers are starting to apply for PTA grants to augment their programs and curriculum. Last year teachers received grants for wiggle stools, books and games to enhance foreign language libraries/classes, tuners for the music program, and more. In years past, we provided wellness/mindfulness material and provided support for after school clubs. Our teachers are so grateful for the teacher grants as they help improve their classroom experience with your generous donations.
