  • CONGRATULATIONS to ARTISTS WHO PLACED IN THE SCHOLASTIC ART CONTEST! Please see Mrs. Burke for information regarding the awards ceremony at Kenmore and to receive your award!

  • TODAY is the first day to vote in the Elite Eight bracket for March Book Madness! Everyone is welcome to participate by reading (or reading about) the popular books and vote weekly to elect a winner! Scan the QR codes on the flyers around school!
  • A fundraiser to support our Swanson Educators!! Wednesday, March 20th Swanson Staff Wellness committee will be hosting a fundraiser at Pupatella at 5104 Wilson Blvd. We hope to see you there- and don’t forget to mention Swanson Fundraiser when you order! From congratulations to condolences, the Staff Wellness Committee aims to support staff through the big moments in their lives and encourage staff community investment and engagement to promote teacher wellness and retention. Previous funds have gone towards: congratulations and condolence cards, sponsoring dinner prior to back to school night, end of year recognitions and celebrations, and other community building opportunities.
  • The Purple Frogs are holding a raffle!  We will have prize winners from each grade level. Purchase raffle tickets before and after school: 6th to Mr. DeWitt’s room (110), 7th see Ms. Hu (203), and 8th see Ms. Dyer, Ms. Mueller, or Ms. Willis.  The drawing will be April 12th at the Month of the Military Child assemblies.  Don’t forget to wear purple!
  • Wavelength Literary Magazine is hosting another contest!  Capture a moment in writing or art exploring the magic of nature, rainy days, or new beginnings. Any genre (poetry, letter, short fiction, script, 2-D drawing/painting or original digital art) as long as it is school appropriate and 750 words or fewer. Share a Google doc or photo with cynthia.chiu@apsva.us and whitney.field@apsva.us by March 18th with your full name, “Wavelength Contest” and English teacher in the message box!
