SOS Suicide Prevention Information Session

Information and Registration (English & Spanish)

September 27, 2018 7:00pm – 8:30pm

Join us and be part of our community’s suicide prevention efforts. Together we will learn about the SOS Signs of Suicide program that will be implemented in our middle and high schools this year, and watch Training Trusted Adults – a companion video designed to engage staff, parents and community members in the program’s objectives and prevention efforts.

Únase a nosotros para formar parte del esfuerzo comunitario encaminado para prevención del suicidio. Juntos aprenderemos sobre el programa SOS de señales de posible suicidio el cual se implementará este año en las escuelas intermedias y secundarias. Venga y vea el video de capacitación para adultos de confianza, destinado a involucrar a personal, padres y miembros de la comunidad en los objetivos del programa y los esfuerzos de prevención.

2018 Summer Flyer

Families of rising 6th graders and new students: Please join us this summer to learn more about Swanson’s academic program, school information, counseling services, 6th grade routines, and more! We will hold sessions on July 20th @ 9 AM, July 20th @ 1 PM, and August 9th @ 4 PM. Sessions will include a 30 minute presentation followed by a tour of the school. No registration required. All presentations will take place at Swanson.  If you need more information, please call 703-228-5508.

Swanson Academic Planning Nights 2019

These evening sessions give parents a chance to learn about Swanson’s course offerings and high school graduation requirements.

Middle School Information Night

Monday, October 22, 2018, from 7 – 9 p.m. at Washington-Lee High School (1301 N. Stafford St.)

Families will receive information on transitioning from elementary to middle school, learn about their neighborhood and option schools for the 2018-19 school year, and attend individual sessions with middle school principals and their staffs.

College & Career Fair 2018

Location: Wakefield High School – 1325 S. Dinwiddie St., Arlington, VA 22204

  • Speak with representatives from 150 colleges, universities, and trade schools.
  • Obtain valuable resources from local community organizations
  • Attend workshops on financial aid and employment projections


Act II Classes

Act II Classes are after-school elective classes. These classes meet one day a week after school. Attendance is taken and students are given a grade. Please look out for announcements regarding ACT II class registration in late September.
