Good Morning Swanson! Today is May 2nd and it is an A Day! Here are your morning announcements:

• Good luck to the Swanson Swim and Dive teams who are heading to Wakefield this afternoon for the Middle School County Championships! Come out and support your Admirals!
• Swanson runners and jumpers performed admirably at the county championships. The following track team members placed:
  • 6th place: Silvey W – 50M, Allie E – LJ, Cyrus C – 50M, Harrison L – 70M, Hank B – HJ
  • 5th place: Alessandra D – LJ, Natalie W – 70M, Allie E – 800M, Logan K – 50M, Sebastian B – 600M, Matthew B – LJ

    • 600 Meter Run:  Maximo Raimo – setting a new Swanson record and almost a county record

• Did you know that hundreds of millions of shoes end up in American landfills every year? The Swanson Green Team wants to help! We are collecting used athletic shoes during the month of May. Drop off your old shoes in the donation box in the lobby by Door 1. Athletic shoes only – no crocs, sandals, boots, etc. Recycle your sneakers, help the planet!
• Help support Staff Appreciation by dining out, ordering in, or buying gift cards from Pupatella Pizza on Monday May 6th all day! • Today is the last day of ticket sales for the 8th grade Kings Dominion trip. It is the absolute last deadline. No permission slips or payment can be accepted after 3pm today! Line up outside room 220 from 2:35 – 3pm. Make sure you have your completed permission slip – front and back – along with $95, cash or check.
• Interested in playing football at Yorktown next year? There will be an optional freshmen football information meeting on Thursday, May 9 at 6:30 pm in Patriot Hall at Yorktown High School.  The head freshmen football coach, school staff and booster leadership will be available to answer questions and go over expectations and opportunities for participating on the freshmen football team.  All rising 8th and 9th grade players and parents are welcome.
