Swanson New Student and Family Orientation

All rising 6th grade students, new to Swanson 7th and 8th grade students, and their families are invited to attend Swanson New Student and Family Orientation on Thursday, August 22nd at 11 am.

• Rising 6th grade students will meet in their STAR classrooms.
• Families of rising 6th grade students will meet in the Auditorium.
• New rising 7th and 8th grade students and their families will meet in the Library.

Additional opportunities for students and families new to Swanson:

• Families of new students with IEPs in grades 6-8 are invited to attend a presentation focused on Special Education services at Swanson with our Special Education Department leads on Thursday, August 22nd 10:00-10:30 am in the Library.
• New to APS students in grades 6-8 are invited to take a Math Placement test to ensure they are placed in the correct math class on Thursday, August 22nd at 9:30 am in the Admirals’ Mess. Please contact Laura Partridge, Swanson’s Math Coach, at laura.partridge@apsva.us with any questions.
