International Thespian Society

The International Thespian Society is the only theatre honor society for middle and high school students in the United States. Affiliation brings credibility and distinction to students, theatre programs, and schools. It is a visible, positive symbol of the quality of your theatre program. ITS recognizes, rewards, and encourages student achievement and celebrates the work of students in all aspects of theatre – performance and production.

Swanson’s Jr. Thespian Society was chartered in March 2024. Students members are required to complete a certain number of hours in multiple qualifying categories to be eligible for induction. You can find more information about points here. Please see Ms. Rosenthal with any questions.

All board meetings and programming (workshops, guest lecturers, courses, trainings, game days, etc.) are open to ALL students, however only inducted members may bring requests to the board, vote on business before the board, and participate in Thespian competition.
