Swanson students are encouraged to participate in the wide variety of opportunities for extra-curricular activities. These activities are provided during After-School Period 1 (ASP 1) 2:30 3:35 p.m. An additional after-school period (ASP 2) will be provided only to students who are bus riders. ASP 2 will be from 3:35 4:15 p.m. Students in ASP 2 will be provided with additional supervised activities. Any student who remains on campus after 2:30 must be supervised by an adult.
Late buses are provided Monday through Thursday for students who normally ride buses when they stay for after school activities. Students staying after school may not leave the school grounds and return to ride the late bus.
Check-In is a fee-based program providing supervision of students between 2:24 and 6:00 p.m. Check-In students may participate in any of the after-school activities. For more information or to register your child, please call 703.228.6069.
Clubs/Co-Curricular Organizations
Teachers and volunteers offer many after school programs to meet the varied interests of our students. Students staying after school for enrichment, academic support, clubs, co-curricular organizations, or other activities are required to sign in with the sponsor.
Interscholastic Sports
This program is available to sixth, seventh and eighth grade students. A current physical examination within the calendar year is required for participation in all interscholastic sports.

Intramurals
An outgrowth of the physical education program, the major purpose of this program is to provide students with lifetime sports activities. Boys and girls are encouraged to participate in the following activities: soccer, volleyball, softball, basketball, field hockey and badminton.
