Good Morning Swanson! Today is November 13th and it is an A Day!

A belated congratulations to the Boys Basketball and Girls Soccer teams for their successes against Kenmore on Monday! The Boys Basketball team won 45-38, and the Girls Soccer team tied 1-1! Good luck to both squads as they head to Dorothy Hamm this afternoon!
Parents! The all school Musical “Between The Lines” will be having auditions next week. Please read through the informational meeting slides for details, and reach to the Director and Theatre Teacher Sophie Rosenthal (at [email protected]) with any questions.
The Swanson PE team is hosting an evening meeting dedicated to answering your questions about the Family Night Education curriculum on December 9th at 6:00 pm. We will go over the curriculum that we teach in accordance with the Viriginia state health and PE SOLs and answer any questions that you might have about the process of us educating your child in these essential topics about their health. Join your Swanson friends at Family Skate Night this coming Saturday, November 15, 6-9 p.m. at Thomas Jefferson Community Center. The entrance fee is $3 and skate rental is $4 (or bring your own skates). Note that chaperones are not provided. All students must be accompanied by an adult. A snack ticket will be provided for each student who shows their current Swanson ID (look for a Swanson sign-in table). Calling all 7th graders! Come to Game Club on Friday! Game Club will be held every Friday in Room 101. Stop by counseling to pick up a pass on Friday if you need to buy lunch.
The Wavelength Literary and Arts Club has an Autumn contest that you may be interested in! Capture an autumn moment in writing or art. Please be sure to follow the contest guidelines and share your work with Ms. Chiu AND Ms. Field by Friday, November 21st.
- Any genre (poetry, letter, short fiction, script, 2-D drawing or painting, or original digital art
- Prompts:
  - Autumn leaves, nature, and animals
  - Thanksgiving/Being Thankful
  - Favorite Autumn/Thanksgiving traditions
- Must be school appropriate
- Writing must be 750 words or fewer
